The driver rankings of the Spanish Grand Prix 2019

20. Lando Norris DNF                   McLaren     

Lando Norris qualified eleventh, but he started the race from the tenth place. (Because of the grid-penalty of Ricciardo) . Norris had a good start but went wide at turn 3 and he lost a lot of places. At lap 46 Norris went for a pass on Stroll, but they collided. Norris couldn't continue and had to retire. 

Rate: 6.5/10

19. Lance Stroll DNF             Racing Point 

Lance Stroll didn't have a good Qualification, he didn't make it into Q2 and qualified seventeenth. At lap 46 he collided with Norris and he couldn't continue and had to retire. 

Rate: 6/10

18. Robert Kubica                         Williams 

Robert Kubica has never out-qualified his team-mate yet this season, he qualified twentieth. But because Russell had a grid-penalty he could start nineteenth. But in the race he didn't manage to keep his team-mate behind and he finished eighteenth. 

Rate: 6/10

17. George Russell                        Williams

George Russell had a crash in practice 3, in Qualifying he out-qualified his team-mate and qualified nineteenth. He got a 5 place grid penalty because they changed the gearbox. In the race he overtook his team-mate and finished seventeenth. 

Rate: 7/10 

16. Antonio Giovinazzi            Alfa Romeo 

Antonio Giovinazzi qualified eighteenth. It didn't get much better in the race, Alfa Romeo didn't have the pace this weekend. Giovinazzi is the only person (with the Williams pair) who didn't score a point. 

Rate: 6/10

15. Sergio Pérez                     Racing Point 

Sergio Pérez qualified fifteenth. In the race he struggled, and Racing Point didn't have the pace. He finished fifteenth. It's a weekend to forget, said Sergio Pérez.

Rate: 6.5/10

14. Kimi Räikkönen                  Alfa Romeo 

Kimi Räikkönen couldn't make it into Q3 and he qualified fourteenth. It was the first time since he returned to the team that he didn't score points. He finished fourteenth. 

Rate: 6.5/10 

13. Nico Hülkenberg                      Renault

Nico Hülkenberg lost his car in Q1 at Qualifying and he couldn't make it into Q2. He still managed to qualify sixteenth, but had to start from the pit-lane. In the race he made up a few places and finished thirteenth. 

Rate: 6.5/10

12. Daniel Ricciardo                       Renault 

Daniel Ricciardo made into Q3 and qualified tenth, but had a 3 place grid-penalty so he had to start thirteenth. In the race he had some fights with Sainz, but in the end of the race he lost a few places and finished twelfth. 

Rate: 7/10

11. Alexander Albon                Toro Rosso 

Alexander Albon couldn't make it into Q3 and qualified twelfth. In the race he lost some time at the pit-stop when Toro Rosso made a two car pit stop. In the end of the race he was really close to overtake Grosjean for the tenth place, but he didn't make it.

10. Romain Grosjean                        Haas 

Romain Grosjean had a good Qualifying and qualified seventh, best of the rest. He drove a good race and it looked like he was going to finish seventh, but then he had a battle with his team-mate Magnussen and after they touched he dropped back and finished tenth. 

Rate: 7.5/10

9. Daniil Kvyat                           Toro Rosso 

Daniil Kvyat qualified ninth. In the race he made a nice move on Räikkönen, around the outside. Like his team-mate Albon he lost some time at his pit-stop, but still managed to finish ninth. 

Rate: 8/10

8. Carlos Sainz                              McLaren 

Carlos Sainz qualified thirteenth. In the beginning of the race he had some battles with Ricciardo. He pitted for fresh softs under the safety car, after this pit-stop he overtook Kvyat and Grosjean at the last few laps. A good race for him. 

Rate: 8/10

7. Kevin Magnussen                           Haas 

Kevin Magnussen had a good Qualifying and qualified eight. In the race ,after the safety-car, he overtook his team-mate Grosjean and they touched but Magnussen could continue. He finished seventh. 

6. Pierre Gasly                               Red Bull 

Pierre Gasly qualified sixth. At the start he almost overtook Leclerc but then he had to go wide an almost lost a place to Grosjean. In the end he finished sixth. 

Rate: 7/10

5. Charles Leclerc                             Ferrari 

Charles Leclerc qualified fifth. In the beginning of the race he was faster than Vettel, but after the pit-stop he had to let Vettel by, because Vettel was faster. He finished fifth. 

Rate: 7/10

4. Sebastian Vettel                          Ferrari 

Sebastian Vettel qualified third. At the start he braked very late, trying to overtake one of the Mercedes cars, this didn't work out he he had a big lock-up. After this he lost a place to Verstappen. He still managed to finish fourth.

Rate: 7.5/10

3. Max Verstappen                       Red Bull 

Max Verstappen qualified fourth and split the Ferrari's. At the start of the race he overtook Vettel and held that place until the end. He was more in a fight with the dominant Mercedes cars than the Ferrari's.  

Rate: 9/10

2. Valtteri Bottas                        Mercedes 

Valtteri Bottas had a stunning Qualifying lap, he was 0.6 seconds quicker than his team-mate Hamilton who qualified second. He started the race from pole but Hamilton immediately overtook him at the start. But another 1-2 for Mercedes. 

Rate: 8/10

1. Lewis Hamilton                      Mercedes 

Lewis Hamilton qualified second with a gap of 0.6 second to his team-mate Bottas, who got pole. But at the start he overtook Bottas and he took the lead and didn't gave it back until the end of the race. He also got the fastest lap with a superb lap at the restart after the safety car. Another amazing weekend for Mercedes.
